Loukoumades - Greek beach donuts

Super soft and with praline filling

  Method  

  1. Place the lukewarm milk and the grated yeast in a bowl and mix

  2. Add the butter, sugar, salt, egg yolks, vanilla and rum and mix

  3. Add the sifted flour and mix

  4. Place the dough on a floured surface and fold it a few times

  5. Place the dough in a floured bowl and put it in the oven at 40° for 1 hour

  6. Place the dough on a floured surface and knead until it deflates

  7. Place in the oven again at 40° for another 20 minutes

  8. Place the dough again on a floured surface and knead until it deflates

  9. Knead  and shape 40 g balls.

  10. Press the balls with your hands and make a hole in the center of them

  11. Fry for 2 minutes on each side in hot oil in a covered pot and place them on absorbent paper

  12. Sugar them or decorate them with truffle

  13. Optionally fill them with praline

  Ingredients  

500 g plain flour

250 g of milk

30 g of fresh yeast

50 g of sugar

4 egg yolks

50 g of butter melted

1 tbsp vanilla extract

½ tsp salt

2 tbsp rum

sunflower oil for frying
