Loukoumades crispy and juicy honey balls

Mini doughnuts from the heart of the East

  Method  

  1. Put the sugar and water in a saucepan and let it boil

  2. After 6 minutes of boiling, lower the heat and add the citric acid

  3. Turn off the heat and add the rose water

  4. Stir and let cool

  5. In a bowl, mix all the ingredients after you pass them through a sief

  6. Stir well with the whisk until smooth

  7. Place the dough in a piping bag

  8. Put the oil in a saucepan and fry the donuts

  9. As soon as you take them out of the oil, put them in cold syrup and stir them to absorb it

  10. At the end drizzle a little honey on top

  Ingredients  

For the dough:

300 g all-purpose flour

10 ml sunflower oil

1 sachet of instant yeast (8 g)

30 g cornstarch

40 g powdered sugar

½ tsp baking powder

1 pinch of salt

330 ml warm water (approx. 40°C) 


For the syrup:

750 g granulated sugar

300 ml water

¼ teaspoon citric acid (or a slice of lemon)

1 tablespoon rose water 


Vegetable oil for frying
