A forgotten recipe from the Aegean


  1. Sprinkle grated coconut on the bottom of a pyrex

  2. In a saucepan put water, salt, sunflower oil, sugar and let it come to a boil.

  3. Stirring constantly and vigorously add semolina a little at a time and then a little coconut.

  4. Once it boils, reduce the heat and put it in pyrex.

  5. Sprinkle with coconut.

  6. You can enjoy it cold or hot ..


1 liter of water 

250 g semolina fine 

400 g of sugar 

150 g grated coconut 

120 ml sunflower oil or olive oil 

2 g salt 

Cinnamon as desired
