Spaghetti with tomato sauce by little Elena

Delicious, red, fragrant tomato sauce.


  1. Start to boil some water in a large pot 

  2. Heat the oil in a pan and sauté the onions

  3. Add the celery, the carrot, the peppers and finally the garlic, all chopped

  4. Add the wine and as soon as the alcohol evaporates, add the tomato puree

  5. Place the spaghetti in the boiling water

  6. Add in the sauce the passata, the grated tomato and mix

  7. Add the spices and bring to a boil

  8. Remove the sauce from the heat and pass it through the blender

  9. Put it back in the pan and add some boiling water from the spaghetti and a little olive oil.

  10. Stir and remove from heat

  11. Serve with grated cheese


500gr spaghetti

1 medium onion

1 small carrot

half a pepper

1 celery stick

2 cloves garlic

1 small glass of red wine

1 tsp tomato puree

100g passata

350g chopped tomatoes

1 glass of water (from the boiling pasta)

1 tsp paprika

1 tsp dried thyme



2 Tsp olive oil
